At the Marble Mansion Inn breakfast is served from 8 to 10 am and is not ordinary at all. Each morning our Chef prepares breakfast dishes using fresh ingredients and a rotating menu that is sure to wake you up and excite your taste buds. Our gourmet Marble Mansion breakfast is served on beautiful antique Haviland limoge china and Mount Vernon silverware.

Nestled in beautiful Fair Haven, Vermont we are about 45 minutes away from major ski resorts. Right around the corner from The Marble Mansion Inn is the beautiful campus of Castleton University. Additionally we are surrounded by Vermont’s natural beauty and the green mountains. Lake Bomoseen is just a short drive away and features fishing, boating, kayaking and camping.  It is one of the local favorite vacation spots during the summer.

Our inn already has the most competitive pricing in the area; however, as veterans ourselves we will extend a 10% discount to anyone presenting a current military ID-card or veteran’s association membership card at check-in. (American Legion, DAV, VFW, etc.)

Four rooms checked out and two rooms stay for two more nights. Additional guests arrive midweek to stay for one night and three nights.

Beautiful warm summer morning with a projected high of 81 today. First guests came to breakfast at 8:00 am sharp to enjoy a hot egg dish with thick maple bacon & pecan cinnamon glazed scones. Seven guests arrived at 9 am to enjoy puffed french toast topped with walnuts, pecans & pure Vermont maple syrup. The first half of the recipe is prepared the evening before with french bread in an egg wash made from eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, mace & vanilla to soak overnight. Bake the first half for 20 minutes in the morning then topped with brown sugar, nuts and maple syrup to bake 20 more minutes. Our Chef use to make the puffed french toast a lot but it is very sweet.

Warmer temperatures continue with today's high forecasted to be 82. Early morning for the Chef to start breakfast preparation at 6:30 am. Two more guests at breakfast than what was expected. Five egg dishes prepared and the batter for the mauna loa muffins. Chelsea took care of putting together three pans of bacon. First guests came to breakfast at 8 am, then 9 and 9:30. Two rooms of guests have checked out and one room arrives today. There seems to be a nice breeze today.

My boyfriend and I completed a bike ride to Montreal, and Marble Mansion Inn was the third stop on our route. Although we spent less than 12 hours at Marble Mansion Inn, it could not have left a better impression. Both Greg and Sharon were lovely and accommodating for our early morning departure needs. The house is absolutely beautiful and worth a three-nights’ stay. I cannot wait to return.

Owners Greg and Sharon Parke made the 7 nights’ stay a wonderful memory! The room we had was the Jane Austin room, with peacock wallpaper and soothing colors, a four-poster bed, wing back chair and flat screen TV, lots of windows, and private bath, it was hard to leave the comfortable space each morning. But the scents from below stairs convinced us to wander down and delight our taste buds in a pleasant surprise daily. Sharon is an excellent chef, and provided lavish full breakfasts daily starting at 8 am. She made cheese soufflés, some sort of fresh meat dish, at least 5 or 6 types of fresh fruit, 4 types of cereals, hot breads and puffy French toast, rich coffee and lots of tea selections, juices, and all served with a smile by Theresa. We have several of Sharon’s recipes I intend to try soon. The location is in a charming town very near the New York border, with all the amenities one might need, near excellent highways. The nights were always very quiet and it was a delight to come home each night! Give them a try! You’ll not be disappointed.
